MAY 26 : Digital OilField Conference confirms methodologies of saving E & P costs.

Second International Digital Oilfield Conference (IDOC 2011) was opened this Tuesday with a keynote speech from the Senior Vice President of ADCO (Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations) Engineering and Projects, Saleh Al Wahedi on behalf of the ADNOC Group.

Mr Al Wahedi talked about the importance of the digital oilfield implementation in the Middle East, and has mentioned ADCO’s choice of North East Bab field to pioneer the Smart field concept within the company from the early field development stage. ADCO has dedicated a full time team with expertise to develop and implement an integrated programme with a goal to see key Smart Fields features available across all their assets by 2015.

IDOC 2011 also discussed the importance of visualization that conveys a clear message, as one of the key enablers to a successful DOF programme. The

advisory committee invited IVML, the market leaders in delivering the right visual message in UAE, to offer their view from the advertising sector as to how this has been successfully achieved.

Managing Director of Matrikon Middle East, Jay Manouchehri said IDOC, as one of the very few highly successful conferences in digital oilfield arena, has created an incubator for thought leadership with a comprehensive overview of the technologies and best practices for design and implementation of digital oilfields. Manouchehri also emphasized the relevance and benefit of bringing together the leading practitioners, suppliers and early adopters.

Phil Camp of SAIC commented: ‘I believe that our delegates appreciated the fact that IDOC 2011 attracted an impressive lineup of recognized thought leaders, who very effectively presented their point of view and industry observation to our Middle East DOF community’. Camp added how important it is that IDOC continues to provide an independent forum, which enables participants to share best practice and collaborate across the region with the significant level and scale of DOF programmes currently underway within the NOC’s in Gulf.

With more than 250 participants from 15 countries IDOC 2011 included a total of 40 speakers in two days, plus additional two pre-conference workshops and was organized by Dome Exhibitions in association with ADNOC.

About IDOC:
The IDOC conference developed by the Advisory Committee now in its second year focused on the implementation of DOF within the NOC's in the Middle East and the many inherent benefits in doing so. The presentations at the IDOC conference are primarily describing the practical aspects achieved thus far by the leading NOC's and also the international experiences of vendors and consultants specializing in the proper adoption of DOF principles.
